Overview:
Transolution had an existing English-only site to which they wanted new language options to be introduced in order to boost international sales and presence. Without this functionality they could not overcomes potential cultural barriers through allowing access in a native language - a big flaw for a translation company. To solve this, the existing content was split out into layout, text, form items and metatags, and moved into culture specific data files. A new language can be added simply by having these the content of these four XML files translated, and adding in the new set. The site attempts to find the users current culture from their browser, and defaults to English if this is not available or if there is no language to suit. The site owners plumped for some XML training rather than a full blown CMS, and are confident updating content and metatags to suit their needs, and to match any current Adwords campaigns.
